Hello Volunteers -

Now that the G and the L trains are running we are no longer offering to pick up volunteers from various drop off locations.

Please feel free to come to 520 Clinton Avenue, 5406 4th Avenue in Sunset Park or 480 Van Brunt #3 in Red Hook to volunteer this weekend.

Below is a lot of great new opportunities for you tomorrow, Saturday 11/10 in the Rockaways, Staten Island and Red Hook.


ROCKAWAYS - CANVASSING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 

This is the locations for volunteering on Saturday in the Rockaways. We will be canvassing for long-term assessments around repairs, insurance, mortgage issues, unemployment, etc. 

Volunteers are meeting at 11am:

ROCKAWAYS - SPECIAL CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS FROM PEACE IS A LIFESTYLE

We will have crews helping clean houses/blocks, delivering goods to those who cannot come out & holding an informational/motivational teach-in.

Where: Thrift-Way Strip Mall Parking Lotlocated at 2 052 Mott Ave in the Far Rockaway part of Queens, NY (take the "A" train to the very last stop.

Why: To create an environment of love, warmth & happiness to those devastated by "Sandy"

When: November 10, 2012

Time: 9am-3pm

Grace Bible Church: corner of Mill St. and Guyon near Fox Beach
last reported need: Clean up crews cleanup Oakwood Beach. Volunteers should bring what tools they can -- rakes, shovels, push brooms and work gloves. This is a local grassroots effort needs people to help and distribute items, needs sanitary items, children’s clothing & heavy duty cleaning supplies

Christian Pentecostal Church, 900 Richmond Rd, corner of Ralph Pl, needs volunteers! Especially this week, Monday - Friday, 9-5 pm. Weekend volunteers also welcome. Just show up in person. There is a long-term need for volunteers, ages 18 and up. The city has designated 3 distribution hubs on Staten Island to receive & distribute donations to Sandy survivors. We are receiving donations from all over, and need help with sorting through donations, and distributing to those in need. Please come in person to the church to volunteer. Volunteers must be 18 or older.

 

The church is located along the s74 & s76 bus routes and walking distance from s53 stop at corner of Clove Rd/narrows Rd & Richmond Rd.
